Why?

“EVERY-BODY” is different. Assisted stretching follows this method knowing that no two stretches will be the same. One-on-one stretching is about identifying tightness and imbalances within the body and customizing a stretch routine that fits your goals.

What to Expect:

The theory “No Pain, No Gain” is not our philosophy with assisted stretching. Our main focus is comfort while attaining your flexibility goals. Before we begin, your Stretch and Flexibility Coach will perform a brief assessment to understand your unique needs, areas of concern, and your current range of motion. This will help tailor the session to address your specific goals and areas of focus. The core of the session involves assisted stretching where your Stretch and Flexibility Coach will guide you through a series of static, dynamic and PNF stretches. They will gently manipulate your body into various positions to effectively stretch and lengthen muscles, while also providing support and proper alignment.

Communication is Key!

What is a Stretch Sensation? - Throughout your session, your stretch coach will check to ensure you are feeling no abnormal pain. You will experience a gentle and tolerable stretch. This should not go past a level 5 on a scale of discomfort rated from 1 to 10. You are encouraged to communicate regarding any discomfort, preferences and feedback is welcome. Relaxation and breathing is essential as you move through the stretches. Your coach will guide you thorough the stretches and help focus your breathing to allow yourself to relax into the movements. Deep, controlled breaths can help enhance the effectiveness of the stretches and promote relaxation. After the stretching session is complete, your coach will conduct a brief post-stretch assessment to evaluate your improved range of motion and flexibility. This will help track the progress over time and sculpt future sessions. Following the session, it is ESSENTIAL to stay hydrated and allow your body time to recover. Your coach will provide recommendations for post-session care, including hydration, gentle movements and any additional stretches or exercises to complete the session. After your session, and based on your post assessment, you will be provided with a personalized plan that targets the areas of tightness, stiffness and limited mobility. This plan will be discussed with you, ensuring that you’re comfortable with the proposed stretches and modifications if needed.

PNF Approach

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation is one of the primary methods we use on our one-on-one stretches. During your session you will be put into a position and while in a comfortable stretch, you will contract your muscle and hold for 3 seconds. This advanced form of stretching is very beneficial in increasing range of motion and obtaining maximum benefits.

Dynmaic and Static Stretching

Static stretching is what we are all most familiar with. Static Stretching is holding a stretch for a set amount of time. Dynamic Stretching include some sort of movements and traction associated with the stretch. We use a combination of these methods during every session.
